Raising hogs in the age of confinement!

We appreciate being able to make informed decisions about our food and want to afford you the same opportunities. Our hogs come to the farm in early spring as 30 pound “feeders” and they live their life outdoors with access to a movable shelter and are rotated to a newly planted pasture every couple of weeks. They thrive on a diverse mix of oats, barley, peas, beans, buckwheat, sunflower, and millet as well as organic grain. Our goal is to raise our animals in a way that allows them to attain their true piggyness! Their diverse diet and stress-free life make them the tastiest, healthiest pork possible!

And their rooting, weed eating, and manure help fertilize future vegetable ground to boot!

We process our hogs in the fall at Crescent Meats, a small-scale family owned meat processor in Cadott, WI that is USDA inspected. The finished meat is vacuum sealed and flash frozen to preserve taste and freshness, then delivered to you.

An old farmer once told us every farm worth its salt has a few hogs, plus they’re just plain fun to have around! We believe you will notice the great taste, and you’ll feel good about your decision to support a different kind of food system.
